Photofriday - Transportation

And here are this weeks friday five questions

1. What do you most want to be remembered for?
Being vibrant, unafraid, generous and I want people to smile when they think of me.

2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life?
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year?
Travelling solo around the world for 3 months.

4. What about the past ten years?
My marriage.

5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say?
Try out everything you can. Don't miss out on any opportunities to take part in things, learn things and experience things. As you get older the chances become less and less. Grab each moment and make it special.

I watched the Miss USA pagent last night.

What a travesty!
Between the whole 51 of them there was such a sameness, such a dullness and I'm sorry to say such dizziness. The tallest being all of 5 ft 8" showed without a doubt that they were all also terribly under nourished (how else do all their 21 year old legs look so lithe and long (esp when the TV adds 5 pounds). My taste must be way off skew. On selecting the ones "we thought should win" we were proven horribly wrong. In fact most came in the reverse order of our assumptions. With questions like "do you think the world is a better place now or when you were a child?" They answered with inanities like " Well it was such a fun place when I was little we could play and giggle and it was a nice place to grow up. I give up! Why watch it you ask? Why exactly!

Sumo - Thats me on the right!

It feels like so long since we last "spoke."
On Tuesday Night we had a Batey Fight Night, in honour of our two newly hired Heavyweight Creative Directors. There was to be the main event - a sumo suit fight - but to warm up the crowds it was decided to stage 3 short bouts. 4 guys put up their hands but they were in search of some girls. After much cajoling Tamara and I caved. I spent most of the day scared, but it was actually lots of fun. We were extremely silly. I used most of the cliched "Matrix" moves ( well as well as can be expected when wearing a suit seemingly made of lead!).
The night had a vegas theme so earlier I had beentackily as a runaway bride complete with huge diamond thingy on my finger. It was a great night.

The next morning of course I was a little worse for wear (but so was the rest of my company).

Then of all things to happen, boxercox.com went down. It went down for exactly 3 days 5 hours 43 minutes and 22 seconds! My registrar stuffed up my domain. But no more complaining. I'm back thank GOD!
Since then I have been busy on a number of pitches (yawn).
And Simon has left me for his other love.
The surf.
He'll be back on Sunday. I am staying in with a not so well furry child this weekend. I need to recharge my batteries. Hopefuully lots of sun, books and swimming. mmm that would be awesome.

There have been so many things I have wanted to link up this week... so here are loads of them... so no major explanations... look and love :)

my home, the world

I had a horrible dream last night.
I was in "the Matrix" (not the film - the "world") and people in the "real world" were injecting a potion into the veins of my true body to keep me there. It was horrible. I had tubes sticking out of my arms and I was powerless to stop them.
Then I woke up realising that mosquitos, the same invisible silent ones that have been plaguing my nights for the last 2 days, had bitten me all over my wrists.
I wouldn't mind so much if it hadn't been the case that I had smothered myself (and all chance of romance) with toxic bug repellant.
The bastards seem to be getting more and more brave. I must have missed a whole 5 centre metre area... so that was invitation enough.
What should I do?
A mosquito net will last up to 3 seconds with the cat.
The plug in things just cost lots and invite in the mozzies.
Citronella candles always suggest the possibility of burning to death.
And any stronger repellants may also kill my husband...
Ideas???

Street art - Copenhagen, Denmark - February 2003

What a weekend! My first day of sun and now the sunburn to match (and white triangles again!). Yesterday I built a bookcase, ate noodles watched a crappy movie starring Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes (Killing me softly). Her breasts are the movies best feature, fixed my news updates on my homepage and then slept badly due to the curse of the midnight mosquitos.
Today I rearranged the en tire study and decided top throw away all those inconsequential statements, invoices and receipts gathering dust. The highlight? The Matrix Reloaded tonight with 15 friends. Loved it ( but that fight scene is just a little too long!) Congratulations to the filmakers for the longest list of credits ever. I want to be in film so MY name can be there too.

So there a dullish (but lovely) weekend. Perhaps my account of it is why I recieved an email with the first link I have listed... enjoy

Aguas Callientes, Peru - April 2003

Thats it. I've forgotten everything. I go off for 3 months and then my brain becomes mush. Now what was I doing? Writing ads. That's right. Now what the Hell are they? (and to the side... do I really care?) I think my brain is still in Aguas Callientes with these cuties.

My Photo Friday submission for this weeks theme is now posted here. This weeks theme is "small" and my shot is of a small friend I encountered in Italy.

I also submitted a lot of last minute images to another photo gallery I've been dying to be a part of
lalaland. Last months theme was in transit but it seems I was too late (thanks for the comment and link on your home page :) One of the upcoming themes is Urban textures so I got in early this time :)
