self portrait in hospital with the tiny one
Wow how incredible this all is. I have so many thoughts and feelings to share... but no time right now.
I need to devote it to the most precious little girl ever... my daughter.
Here we are at 5 hours old in the hospital! I have had an hour and a half's sleep yet I feel brilliant. Never felt better.. must be the endorphins/hormones.

bye bye belly - Friday, July 16, 2004
Its come time to say goodbye to this belly I have gotten so used to.
It's weird. Very soon I will not be pregnant any more. I will not be able to use the pregancy card to get a seat on the bus! I will not get stared at in the street. It all feels quite sudden after 9 months of growth!
I guess I'll let you know how it feels when baby come out!
Now we are ready for D Day.

saturday night fever man
I just love the signs in Singapore. This electrical warning sign always reminds me of Saturday Night Fever. Must be the flares! He's WAYYY too cool to be on a warning sign!

memories from Mum - Wednesday, July 07, 2004
Fear of extinction
Mum amd Dad sent me a beautiful gift yesterday. I walked to the post office to collect it.
It was my own baby book. From when I was born. Pictures of Mum pregnant, tracings of my feet. A lock of my hair. All the landmark events in my very early life ( I got my second tooth on Simon's 4th birthday!).
Its beautiful! (and the illustrations and type of early 1970s Mothercare are brilliant!).
So many photos, so many memories!
Now we are waiting to get some baby pics of Simon so we can compare ourselves to our own little one!
Thankyou! I hope I can be so dilligent with my baby book.

last lunch? - Tuesday, July 06, 2004
Escalator man, Roxy Square
Met the "gang" from Batey for lunch today. So nice of them to organise it! Jason who I haven't seen since May, Les, Ellen, Suz, Alex and Tim who flies of on Sunday. I could tell I looked bigger because they hadn't seen me in a while. More stories of fun at the office then off to Funan to fix my scanner.
Its all getting closer and closer. I find myself not sleeping quite so soundly, getting little jabs of pain, and generally feeling a bit heavier all over. My wrists hurt! I think that's from "helping myself up". And after long walks my feet feel a bit dead! Still generally I am good! Still lots of shores to do... but I am ticking them off slowly. Am alos busy building a baby site. It should be done soon (I hope in time).

Simon met Maya today. It was lovely watching him watch her! She really is so beautiful! Tiny with long skinny limbs ( a supermodel already!). Cris and Peter look like absolute naturals. I hope we are so calm and organised one week after our "birth".
