hair today gone tomorrow - Tuesday, August 31, 2004
Born with loads of hair it seems to have rubbed off in a circular strip. The front is slowly growing back but now we are left with this whispy crown and maeve mullet. To cut or not to cut? Daddy doesn't like it... but I don't want her to have no hair... and besides its so soft and cute.
Now I'm really coveting the Canon 300D though I did just find the macro function on my camera (doh!)
Taking loads of closeups of my tiny precious girl

Palms - Singapore Botanic Gardens
Today we took Mum to the Botanic Gardens. We haven't been before (how slack of us). It dawned on me all the things I'll miss when i leave. Here's a rough list in no particular order:
The green, abundant vegetation
The summer days all year round
Being able to swim everyday
Having a pool in my building
Cheap as chps Asian food right outside my home
Taxis that come when called
Taxis that cost peanuts
Shops that stay open till 9pm everyday
Supermarkets that deliver on weekends
Pregnancy support groups
Closeness to bali and Lombok (and Thailand etc etc)
Cheap It supplies (and Cameras, and printers and inks and film etc )
Air conditioning (never thought I'd say THAT)
humidity (ditto for this)
and more to come as I think of them.....

chinatown transactions - Thursday, August 19, 2004
More pics from Chinatown.
I sure am going to miss this place. All the cultural diversity, al the colours and textures.
In case you didn't know... we are leaving Singapore and heading back down under. Its a snap decision and one we are acting on fast. We'll be in Oz by October. So much to do (so much to shoot) and so little time (even less with a babe) but I wouldn't change that for the world.

reprisal of the first portrait
Maeve just loves sleeping on my shoulder or chest. Just like one of the first self portraits I took of us, here is a reprisal at 4 and a half weeks old. My how she has grown!
Today we had a busy day shopping. Mainly looking at shoes. Orchard first then to Great World City after a grumpyish morning!

Grandma Boxer Meets Maeve - Saturday, August 07, 2004
Grandma Boxer and little Maeve
Mum arrived on Saturday night to spend some time with Maeve. It was a bit of a debarcle getting to the airport. Firstly my cab didn't arrive at all. I was sitting in the carpark with the little miss in her carseat in the heat, watching the time that Mum's plane arrived tick by. Eventually a new cab arrived and when we got to the airport the terminal was under rennovations so we ahd to walk about a kilometer to find the lift down to arrivals. Now we were 30 minutes late and Maeve was gettting a little grizzly. As we approached the transit gates I saw a woman (from behind) hading in the other direction so I started following but couldn't catch her. I called out Mum but that didn't work. There must have been 50 mums there (including myself) so I tried Barabara and she turned around.
Finally us 3 girls were reunited and to celebrate Maeve started howling so we bundled into a taxi and headed for home.
At home Mum had her first Granmotherly hold and Maeve smiled the most beautiful grin whilst perched on her lap... Ahhhhh.
