maeve is now a beautiful little girl

What a huge change there has been in Maeve in the last week. She's a little girl now. She talks all the time and new words happen every day. Today there was even an attempt at "Maeve". Now I can count "sky", "car", "puss", "please", "daddy", "mum", "eddie", "teddy", "plane","nose", "eye" and more. Of course she doesn't use them all the time but she's trying to repeat most things we say.
Now she runs almost everywhere. And climbs, and falls and bangs her head.
She even runs away giggling when she knows its time to be icked up to go to bed or to go out.

Its incredible. She doesn't even look like a baby any more either. She's all "growed" up.

having a bumper time in the sun - Monday, August 29, 2005

holden club day at silverwater

It was at least 27 degrees today and what better way to spend it than wandering around looking at old cars in the sunshine. Eating sausage sangers and soft serve cones ( for Maeve just the cone though). It was the Holden car club meet and since Simon is quite keen to be a member with his own car still to come, we went along. Maeve had a great time running around in the sun. One woman even stopped to ask how old she was as she "looked too small to be walking". Bless.

maeve and will have a play date - Thursday, August 25, 2005

macaire and maeve with pingu

Thats it... From now on Maeve and me are styaing at home. Its so much easier. People can come and play with us. There are no wine bottles to grab, no stairs to fall down, no gravel to eat and nothing to smash.

Macaire and Will came over today to play and they had a ball. Macaire and I even had time for coffee and a chat while they just cruised around. The two of them play so nicely together. I guess he's Maeve's first boyfriend!

swinging with mummy

Maeve loves the park. Its fast becoming a regular thing to do. The swings are great and so is the slide. I just wish there were less woodchips and cigarette butts to pick up and eat!

maeve goes walkabout - Tuesday, August 02, 2005

off she goes so far away from mummy

For the first time Maeve is mobile. All by herself she can head off into the distance and if I didn't stop her she would. Look how tiny and cute she is rushing off into the botanical gardens. She's not afraid of anything.

I love how adventurous she is yet I have to restrain myself everytime I want to stop her from eating the dirt. Its all part of the learning process isn't it. She's no wimpy girl that's for sure.

maeve, sal and finn

Today I cought up with Sally and her son Finn. Its been at elast 5 years since we last saw each other and so much has happened since then. Not to mention 4 years in Singapore and 2 gorgeous youngsters between us.

The beuatiful Melbourne Botanical Gardens were full of Oak leaves and the two of them kicked and ran and giggled. It was magical. Lovely to see you Sal.
